TRACK OF THE WEEK

On a Missionby Katy B. Normally round Pop Corner way, we're terrified of dubstep. We have a Magnetic Man track on our iPod that we always forget about, and we get a fright when it comes on.

But Katy B is the friendly, tuneful end of dubstep – with minimal WOMP WOMP WOMP noises. And with her crystal-clear enunciation, we might even follow her on to the dance floor, even though we're not entirely sure what a "sub" going "boom" is. Did we mention that she has an actual degree in pop? (No, really – from Goldsmiths. Amazing.)

** Poor old Demi Lovato is feeling the strain of touring with her ex, Joe Jonas. Not only did she have to star in a bloody film ( Camp Rock 2) with the love rat, she's now playing a show a night with him – while he romances Twilight's Ashley Greene. And Demi ain't mincing her words.

She notes of Joe’s haste to move on: “I think there’s a certain level of respect that’s lost when that happens, but you can’t do anything about it other than to just keep going and be glad you have someone in your life that you can think about, and spend your time with.” She’s got class, that girl.

N-DUBZ WATCH

Tulisa has hired a former backing dancer to act as her PA. His duties involve managing Tul’s day-to-day business, running her diary and, er, waking her up in the morning. According to a mysterious source, “it’s her first step towards independence”. We hate to break it to you, Tuls, but paying someone to rouse you from your slumber is about as independent as a carrot.

** Ever the player, old Fringeface Bieber has blasted the idea of being in a relationship, using his typical mixture of charm and wit. “Girlfriends are trouble at this age,” he sagely opines. “I don’t really have any crushes at the moment. Right now, we’re just teenagers having fun doing what we love . . . we’re just staying ourselves and remaining humble.” What a shame. We almost believed him up until the “humble” part.

** In a final bid to remain relevant, Sugababes have launched a trio of perfumes. Named Tempt, Tease and Touch, each scent is supposed to reflect an aspect of a band member’s personality. Could we instead suggest Going, Going and Gone?
