AILBHE MALONEruns a feathered boa in Lady Beckham's face...
TRACK OF THE WEEK: Le Coq Aux Follesby Hesta Prynn. This Brooklynite is one cool chick. An ex-MC, Prynn can still spit when she wants to, but these days is more into electropop. Mixing 1960s beat girl with a swirly electro groove, Prynn sounds like a member of KC and the Sunshine Band who got lost in Studio 54 and was taken home by Quincy Jones. That's several kinds of special.
- New compound couple alert!Marvin from JLS has been dating Rochelle from The Saturdays for the past few months, but their relationship has recently taken a massive turn in the direction of aww-bless cuteness. Says Marv: "I wouldn't be with her if she wasn't The One." Pop Corner hereby names this union Marvelle and gives it its sincerest blessing.
- Lily Allen has confirmed reports that she's writing the score for the Bridget Jones musical. So far, Allen has written 10 tracks, including one about lonely Bridget contemplating her fridge. Says she: "I'm hugely proud of this, and it's something I've worked really bloody hard on. It's being recognised as a songwriter and lyricist that truly excites me."
- Following on from last week's pop-star plague, newsfrom the hospital is that Cheryl Cole is doing well, but has cancelled all upcoming appearances. Doctors have also told Chezza to eat a cake or two, as her restrictive blood-group diet isn't helping her get better any quicker. Have a Cornetto on us, Cheryl.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK:Victoria Beckham's finally coming around to the whole Lady Gaga thing. "At first I didn't like her and didn't like the way she dressed. Now she is working with designers and wearing couture clothes. Bit by bit she is finding her image, and it's nice to see it, as she is undoubtedly a talented girl," mused Vic, glossing over her own fashion disasters in the 1990s. Platform shoes, feather boas and dark lipliner are a sartorial combo that Posh would rather forget, apparently.
