Lower: Seek Warmer Climes

Copenhagen's Lower prowl the post-punk parade with quiet intent and some amount of moody menace. Like fellow Danish roustabouts Iceage, Lower's musical influences may come from the premier leagues, but this doesn't make Seek Warmer Climes some sort of pastiche of the usual suspects from The Cure and PiL on down. Instead, Lower concentrate on utilising their noisy guitars and dramatic, monochromal sounds to push a more nuanced and emotionally vulnerable type of wiry, angular alt.rock. Adrian Toubro's voice is perfectly suited to extrapolating and elongating the angst and anger running through Lose Weight, Perfect Skin, the tortured Unkempt, Uncaring and Expanding Horizons.
