MUSIC NEWS: Following Cashier No 9's record deal with Bella Union, Dublin band We Are Losers are the latest Irish act to sign to a UK label.

The four-piece will release their debut single, the double-A side Sunset Song/Cheerleaderon Dance to the Radio.

"When we went over to play the Live at Leeds festival and got to know one another, they offered to put out our single," explained frontman Gavin Elsted. "We thought it was a perfect fit, so we happily accepted."

The Leeds-based independent label was founded in 2004, and has released music by Esben and the Witch, Sky Larkin and The Pigeon Detectives in the past. Phil Slavin from DTTR told The Ticketthat he was "blown away" when he first heard the band's demos. Although there is no plan to record an album at present, the band have other releases in the pipeline for the coming months. The single will be released digitally on July 15th, while the label is offering a free download of their track Moany.
