Small-but-perfectly-formed music festivals continue to make their mark on the summer gig circuit. Tomorrow will see the second Tara Rocks! music festival take place just outside the town of Navan, Co Meath. Damien Dempsey will headline the gig ahead of the release of his sixth album. Also on the bill are The Lost Brothers, Tupelo, The Furry Gilberts, Eoin Glackin, Trigger and the Hitmen and more. The first band is on at 3pm, and tickets are €20. tararocks.ie

Meanwhile, the Garden Sessions in Birr, Co Offaly will return to the Chestnut pub’s walled gardens on September 7th and 8th. It’s a non-camping gig in aid of Offaly Hospice. Divine Comedy man Neil Hannon will be joined by Hello Moon, Katie Kim, The Gandhis, Rónan Ó Snodaigh, The Walls, I’m Your Vinyl, Daniel Martin Moore and more.
