Halloween Round-up

Spectres, spooks and skeletons to the dancefloor please

Spectres, spooks and skeletons to the dancefloor please. Bank holiday weekends are always busy, but add Halloween to the mix and it’s a real bumper affair in clubland.

The Beatyard dominates proceedings in the capital with the likes of Kode 9, Surgeon, reggae luminary Dave Rodigan, Todd Terje, Brainfeeder producer Kutmah, The Sound Now, Seek You Will Find tribute to Arthur Russell, and dozens more rocking the Twisted Pepper and Bernard Shaw from tonight to Sunday.

There are a couple of weekend-long bashes outside the Pale too. Hunters Moon in Carrick-on-Shannon is for experimental music fans, while Dundalk’s Mansion Festival has such star attractions as Vitalic (below), Chris Liebing, Dubfire, Grandmaster Flash and Joker. Shine celebrates 16 years of house and techno bangers on Saturday night in Belfast, while Dubliners can choose from Minus and Clonk wizard Heartthrob, Downwards label guru Regis and German electro duo Digitalism on Sunday night.
