Highly regarded post-rock instrumentalists And So I Watch You From Afar (right) have been chosen by RTÉ 2FM as the station’s primary act for the Eurosonic, the European industry festival. Held every January in Gronigen, The Netherlands, Eurosonic showcases for up-and- coming bands and acts as a feeder to a number of other European festivals.
Last year, Fight Like Apes won slots at six major festivals after taking part in the European Talent Exchange Programme. Similarly, UK band White Lies played at 15 festivals after winning over bookers and promoters.
Belfast quartet And So I Watch You From Afar will have their performance broadcast live on 2FM on January 15th. Guitarist Rory Friers said that the band are “looking forward to bringing our noise to the continent again.”
A number of other (yet to be announced) Irish acts will also travel to Gronigen for the festival, which takes place from January 14th to 16th. www.eurosonic.net
