Beat bank holiday blues at Beatyard

Dublin promoters Bodytonic are hosting their sixth Beatyard festival next weekend

Dublin promoters Bodytonic are hosting their sixth Beatyard festival next weekend. Various gigs, DJ sets, talks, exhibitions and food and drink events – many of them free to attend – will take place in the Twisted Pepper and the Bernard Shaw from October 25th to 28th.

The bank holiday weekend kicks off early on Thursday, with a cocktail-making class, an exhibition of the work of Cork-based visual artist Feel Good Lost, a set by Brooklyn ambient electronica artist Laurel Halo and DJ sets by Annie Mac (see interview on page 8) and grime producer Terror Danjah.

The festivities continue on Friday, with The Submotion Orchestra, Champion Jim playing gigs at Twisted Pepper, while the Bernard Shaw hosts an Afro-Caribbean barbecue for those feeling peckish.

On Saturday there’s a whiskey workshop, flea market, comedy with Eleanor Tiernan and a screening of short horror films, as well as musical gigs by Matthew Herbert, OCHO, Mike Slott and more.
