By now, we know exactly what's in store when the latest Kitsune compilation rolls around. Few labels have set out their stylistic stall with quite the same exacting standards as the chic French music and fashion label, which has worked with Hot Chip, The Teenagers, Cut Copy, Two Door Cinema Club, Klaxons, Bloc Party and dozens of other acts that dwell in that indie/electro Venn diagram. As with previous Maison compilations, you'll find some reliable indicators as to future acts to watch, with the excellent Theme Park, Citizens!, Computer Magicand Juvenilesworthy of further examinaton. Irish band Cast of Cheers are in the Kitsune fold, and new track Geeseis a considerable step up from their Chariot debut album. Elsewhere, the fiery pout of Housse de Rackets' Romanstands out from a pack that often seems hell-bent on doing what looks like the right thing rather than showing any glimmer of individuality. kitsune.fr
