Despite being together for nearly 25 years, Tuam's most famous sons have managed to carve a career from just six studio albums (and a lot of copies of I Useta Lover). It's clear from their seventh that Davy Carton co are primarily a live band: fist-pumping, adult- orientated rock tracks such as Takin' the Trainand Goodbye Againare made for crowd singalongs, while Friday Townand Be Yourselfare practically Springsteen-esque in the anthem stakes. Yet there's scant material here to beguile those immune to the Doctors' charms, even if their harmonies chime, their songs are polished and their musicianship is indubitably competent. The main problem is that The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctorsis less of an adventure and more of a continuation of a well- signposted route. See sawdoctors.com
