Ragged and raw, The Men are firm believers in the power of white noise and white heat. On their latest album, Leave Home, the Brooklyn warriors rampage through independent rock's most cherished back- pages and emerge with a brand new document of sorts. After cheerful, friendly nods and winks to Spacemen 3, Jesus and Mary Chain, Sonic Youth, Hüsker Dü and The Ramones (one assumes the album title is a tribute of sorts to da brudders), The Men rip these dusty heirlooms from the wall and replace them with their own brand of searing, feral chaos. Tracks such as Batailleand Night Landingare genuinely thrilling, the sound of a band keen to blow your mind with every bold, brash howling twist or turn they can throw into the mix.
