Moya Brennan and Cormac de Barra have been sharing harp tunes for a number of years, and their fluency with the instrument is the foundation for this genteel collection. Sharing vocal duties too on this, their first duet collection, yields interesting, if at times effete results. Their song choices are most effective on the slow airs. Casadh mo Chroíbears comfortable comparison with Brennan's best work with Clannad and arrangements are meticulously realised throughout.

Frustrations arise though, where they choose the road well-travelled: Carolan's Concertois a magnificent piece, but has been commandeered by so many fine musicians that it fails to yield fresh insights. De Barra's voice works best when harmonising rather than duetting with Brennan. A comfortable collaboration that charts a familiar terrain, but takes few chances along the way.
