Kill Krinkle Club

Justin Commins, frontman of dreamy indie-rockers The Star Department, has now turned his attention to making dreamy electronica with his Swedish wife Elina Bergman. The pair's debut is a record brimming with imagination, but ultimately deficient in cohesion. Kill Krinkle Club's biggest problem is their over-ambition. The constant changes of rhythm, key and tone within each song don't give listeners time to settle into a groove, making songs such 59 and Airport frustrating listens. If Kill Krinkle Club can distil their bountiful ideas - as heard on the settled, intense hum of This Is Winter- they may just make a great album, someday. Abandonis a shaky but determined beginning.
