Since 2009, each of the three albums from Luke Temple's Brooklyn band have ventured boldly into different terrain. From the mannered, hazy ambient pop drones of their debut to the more energetic psych-jams on Pigeons, Here We Go Magic have developed into a band always willing to try out new sounds for size. Produced by Nigel Godrich (who fell for the band at their Glastonbury appearance in 2010), A Different Ship reels you in with one mesmeric, maverick, blissful pop moment after another. Make Up Your Mind and How Do I Know show how Temple co have received their musical cues from risk-takers out of previous pop eras, each track playing with rich, intense and expansive melodies and grooves.
