Counsel for Mr Quinn told the Special Criminal Court that he had injuries to the face and body and had complained that he had passed blood in his urine and had periods of memory loss and unconsciousness due to these injuries. Mr Quinn had instructed her that he had received these injuries while in custody in Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick.

Michael E Hanahoe & Company state " It is a matter of grave concern that someone should appear in court following a period in Garda custody with the evident injuries shown by Mr Quinn and in the dazed and disorientated state in which Mr Quinn was".
