Cinema posters go under the hammer

Cinema posters go under the hammer

A collection of more than 1,000 cinema posters from the 1950s and 1960s are among the items on offer at tomorrow's antiques and collectables fair in Newman House, Dublin. The majority of famous actors from the period are features on these pictures, but dealers will also be bringing pieces with an older pedigree, such as a silver chalice with gilt decoration made by James Fox of London in 1867 and a pair of neo-classical candlesticks, hallmarked Birmingham, 1893. Plus, there is to be a large selection of stamps and postal history material, jewellery, porcelain, paintings and prints. The fair opens to the public at 11 a.m.

45 stands on offer at hotel sale

An antiques and collectors fair is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Doyle Tara Towers Hotel starting at 10 a.m. There will be 45 stands offering a wide variety of goods, mostly dating from pre-1945.
