THE Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers is again holding its fine and decorative arts certificate course this year.

Now in its 10th year, the evening course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it lasts for 15 weeks, starting on January 30th. It is designed especially for people with no previous education qualifications in fine art and includes some field trips as well as lectures. The course covers furniture, architecture, painting, period interiors, Irish glass, ceramics and silver.

Principal lectures will include Roxane Moorhead, Yvonne Scott, Christopher Moore, Dr Sean O'Reilly and Douglas Bennett.
