The Hollywood Reporter tells us Ricky Gervais is in discussions to take the lead role in a sequel to The Muppets. Given the superb creatures’ worldwide appeal, the new film is to be shot largely in Europe. Gervais himself tweeted that he “hoped it was true”. Then the tweet vanished. Make of that what you will.
