Time for yet more litigation news. It has emerged that a filmgoer in Detroit is suing his local cinema over the outrageous prices it charges for snack food. Joshua Thompson objected to paying $8 for a Coke and a packet of Goobers (some class of chocolate-covered nut), when the same produce could be purchased for just $2.73 in a store.
“He got tired of being taken advantage of,” Kerry Morgan, his lawyer, said. “It’s hard to justify prices that are three and four times higher than anywhere else.”
To paraphrase Lionel Hutz from The Simpsons,I don't use the word "hero" lightly, but Josh is, perhaps, the greatest hero in moviegoing history.
