Who says nothing interesting happens in January? The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland has announced an intriguing initiative entitled Digital Biscuit. Taking place at the Science Gallery from January 24th until January 26th, the event will welcome such luminaries as David Yates, director of the last Harry Potter films; Gareth Edwards, the bright spark behind Monsters, and Pixar top dog Pete Doctor for a series of talks and expositions “focusing on Ireland’s capabilities as a creative and technological leader in innovative film and television production”.

Birch Hamilton, executive director of the Guild, said: “We want to enable creators in a digital age. Directors are the lifeblood of the screens, big and small. Irish directors are embracing the global opportunities that new technology is bringing to the industry, leading us into an exciting age of film-making.”
