Those who were at Take That's Croke Park show on June 13th this year would have witnessed something very interesting taking place: the total rehabilitation of a once-derided boyband. Of course, any band that conceived the pop-perfect Back for Goodwas never going to be in the doldrums forever, but it took this tour (as well as the titular album it promoted) for us to finally forgive the Northern English lads for being the inspiration for the likes of Boyzone and Westlife. When you align strong original material, however, such as Shine, Patienceand Rule the World, with a circus-style visual extravaganza filmed at London's Wembley Stadium, you have a major success. So, yes, it's a brilliant circus with very good pop music; it shouldn't work but it does. www.takethat.com
