Is the UK Film Council using its last moments to take a dig at the Tories? It has been reported that one of the body's last grants was made to a hostile biopic of Mrs Thatcher entitled, with no great imagination, The Iron Lady. Meryl Streep will play the former prime minister and Phyllida Lloyd, the actor's director on Mamma Mia!,will be holding the megaphone.
