Last week’s National Student Media Awards took place just too late for the Reel News deadline. Belated congratulations go out to director Cathy Brady and producer Tommy Fitzpatrick, whose superb Small Change won for best film script and best short film. Small Change was developed as a graduation project at the National Film School at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
Animation of the year went to Alex Sherwood for
The Apple Tree. It hardly needs to be said that young Sherwood emerged from the increasingly prestigious animation programme at Ballyfermot College of Further Education. Expect big things from the winners.
