The compromise document which broke the deadlock over chairmanship of the Northern peace talks was drafted by the Government delegation, not by "the British government side", which was printed in error in a report on page 10 yesterday.

References, in the original report, to the Government's stance were mistakenly amended to the "British government", an error which then gave rise to a misleading headline.
