An article headed "When death becomes a grave business" in our editions of December 30th quoted £95 as the cost of a single grave at Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin.

Glasnevin Cemeteries Group has pointed out that this confers the right to burial in graves known as "unpurchasables" in each of which several people have been buried over the past 150 years. It does not confer ownership, nor does it mean that other members of the person's family can be buried in the grave.

The cost of a single grave, in the usual sense of the word, is £440 for a plot which will accommodate two or three burials.
