The unaccompanied violin can easily go to places that pianists requiring concert grands would find thoroughly forbidding. Darragh Morgan, however, is going to four of them in six days, with an Islands tour that will take him to Valentia Island, the Aran Islands, Inishbofin and Tory Island.

Morgan spends most of his time performing new music, but his touring programme will range far and wide, from the 18th century (Bach and Telemann) to music of the late 20th and 21st centuries (John Buckley, Bill Campbell, Michael Nyman, Philip Glass), as well as traditional airs from Ireland, Macedonia and Cyprus.
