SIXTY nine European animation projects, four of them Irish, will be presented at the seventh annual Cartoon Forum which takes place in Connemara from September 19th to 21st, the first time the event will be held in Ireland. Over 500 participants from all over Europe are expected to attend the forum which has become firmly established as the principal marketplace and funding venue for new animation projects.

The Cartoon D'Or, the principal European prize for short animation films, will be presented at the forum and the winner will receive a cheque for 35,000 ECU. Previous winners of the award include Nick Park for his Oscar winning short film, The Wrone Trousers.
