`Battersea' painting top seller of Boyle works
Some 70 per cent of the works on offer were sold at last Tuesday's first session of the two-part Alice Boyle studio sale being conducted by John de Vere White. Prices averaged £400-£800, but the highest figure achieved was for an oil called Lighters at Battersea; this fetched £4,700.
The second session will take place at the National Concert Hall next Tuesday when all lots without estimates will be offered for sale.
