Each year Cork County Council organises, as part of its arts programme, a substantial contemporary exhibition in Macroom, where the town hall is a large, flexible venue. This year's show, Time in Space, grew out of curator Norah Norton's conversations with local artists Bernadette Cotter and Robert Rasmussen.

“I was struck,” Norton says, “by their connections with Asian artists.” Hence the idea of showing their work together with that of two Asian artists of their choosing. The result is an ambitious venture featuring contributions from four artists with quite distinctive individual voices. What they share is a contemplative approach to their concerns and an interest in creating unpredictable, immersive installation pieces that draw in the viewer.

With Cotter and Rasmussen are South Korean Hun-Chung Lee and San Francisco-based, Taiwanese born Su-Chen Hung. Artistic affinities become apparent as you spend time with the work.
