German share prices fell further in after-hours electronic trade, with the Xetra Dax ending the session down 1.3 per cent.
The stability of the dollar underpinned some export-based stocks although the mixed opening on Wall Street dampened sentiment.
Truck maker MAN was the worst performer with a 5 per cent fall, while other blue-chips to fall included BMW, and BASF ahead of its first quarter results.

French shares closed sharply lower in the third consecutive daily fall since last week's all-time high, as a lower Wall Street and worries about Indonesia weighed on the market.
Financial shares were hurt by the crisis in Indonesia, with some in the market fearing bigger losses from the region that previously forecast.
