US firm to grow in Galway

Medical device maker Boston Scientific will expand its research operation at Galway with IDA Ireland assistance, the company said yesterday. The plant will be used to develop a drug-coated cardiovascular stent for the treatment of heart disease. The firm employs about 3,000 people in the Republic.
