United Drug has recorded a 35 per cent rise in pre-tax profit to €14.9 million (£11.7 million) from €11

United Drug has recorded a 35 per cent rise in pre-tax profit to €14.9 million (£11.7 million) from €11.07 million in the year to September 30th, 1999. The results have been described as "very satisfactory" by chief executive Mr Jerry Liston.

Further strong growth is anticipated. Mr Liston said profits should rise by 15 per cent plus this year. Most of this would come from its core businesses.

Further ahead, benefits should flow from the £14 million (€17.78 million) investment involving 15 acres in Magna Business Park, adjacent to the Citywest Campus in Dublin.
