The first comprehensive survey on trustee training has been published by the Pensions Board. It found that out of 153 respondents 63 per cent had undergone training.
The survey also established that the respondents had no difficulties in relation to getting paid time off from their employers for trustee training.
The head of information and training at the Pensions Board, Ms Mary Hutch, said the board believed all trustees should receive training as soon as possible after appointment given the responsibilities placed on trustees them by the Pensions Act and other legislation.
