Telecom Eireann is cutting the price of its freephone numbers by between 25 per cent and 40 per cent, it said yesterday, From December 1st, the price of evening and weekend calls on the national freephone 1800 and CallSave 1850 services will fall from 8p to 6p per minute.

The cost of local calls will also be reduced, from 7p to 4p per minute. This is the second time in recent months that Telecom has dropped its freephone rates.
