Taylor investors drop discovery applications

A NUMBER of investors with Taylor Asset Managers Ltd were yesterday named in court

A NUMBER of investors with Taylor Asset Managers Ltd were yesterday named in court. Mr Daniel and Ms Kathleen Lynch and Mr Patrick Milne, whose addresses were not divulged, withdrew applications for discovery before the Master of the High Court, Mr Harry Hill.

Prior to the High Court's agreement last Friday to wind up the investment company, the Lynchs and Mr Milne had taken steps to seek an order from the Master directing discovery of details regarding their investments.

When the applications were called for hearing in the Master's Court yesterday, an unidentified representative of Taylor Asset Managers Ltd said they could be struck out.

A solicitor representing the investors said he was not objecting on the grounds he had no instructions from his clients.

Last Friday, the High Court appointed accountant, Mr Patrick McSwiney, of BDO Simpson Xavier, as provisional liquidator. Mr Justice Robert Barr put the matter in for mention in the High Court today. It is likely that today's hearing will be brief, in that the provisional liquidator is expected to inform the court of his need for an extension of time to conduct further inquiries.
