Waterford Crystal has doubled its target for the new John Rocha-designed glass stemware. The range was introduced on markets in July with anticipated sales of £500,000 in the Republic for this year. However, demand has been so great that the target has been doubled to £1 million, according to Mr Redmond O'Donoghue, chief executive. The range was to have been introduced to Britain at a function in London last night. However, this has been postponed for about 10 days because of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. The stemware will be later promoted in the US.
