AIB confirms State has 92.8% stake

AIB has confirmed that the Government now holds a 92.8 per cent stake in the bank.

It announced yesterday that the National Pension Reserve Fund, through which the State invested in AIB, had converted almost 10.5 million convertible non-voting shares into ordinary stock. The move had been expected and follows the bank’s disposal of its stake in Bank Zachodni WBK and BZ/WBK AIB Asset Management.
