Relief for small business

A programme of regulatory reform to ease the administrative burden on small business has been approved by the Government. The programme, based on the recommendations of the working group established under the Strategic Management Initiative, includes measures which involve consultation by departments with their customers on reform priorities "in order to identify the scope which exists for consolidation, revision and/or repeal of existing legislation". A Central Regulatory Resource Unit is to be established in the Department of the Taoiseach.
