Scottish Media, the television and newspaper group, yesterday delivered record interim profits on the back of a strong maiden contribution from Caledonian Publishing, which it bought last year. SMG made a pre-tax profit of £18.5 million in the six months to June 30, an 80 per cent boost on the £10.3 million it made in the first half of 1996.
