The continuing boom in the construction industry in the Republic has contributed to an 18 per cent rise in pre-tax profits in 1999 to €21.7 million (£17.1 million).
Announcing its full-year figures yesterday, Readymix said Northern Ireland remained a difficult market for the group while its Isle of Man operations performed satisfactorily. Earnings per share rose by 18 per cent to 17.13 cents, from 14.46 cents. And the directors are recommending a final dividend of 3.43 cents per share, up 20 per cent on the previous year. Sales grew by 16.8 per cent to €184.3 million, from €157.8 million, with trading conditions in the Republic showing strong growth.
