PR rivals unite with novel idea

SO much for fierce rivalry

SO much for fierce rivalry. When Terry Prone of Carr Communications was looking for someone to launch her book Racing the Moon, who should she choose but old rival Mary Finan of Wilson Hartnell.

The book launch took place last night at the Gresham Hotel. One chapter of the novel, submitted last year as a short story, won the Francis McManus Literary Award.

Set in the PR world, it features the lives and loves of twin sisters - Sophia ("beautiful, successful and a keeper of secrets") and Darcy ("fat, red haired and always meeting trouble halfway").

Unfortunately, we are told that any resemblance to real characters "is entirely accidental and unintentional.
