Standard & Poor's has introduced a Website aimed at providing individual investors with news, research and other data, the 125-year-old company's first move into the consumer market.

The New York-based credit ratings company said S&P Personal Wealth, found at www.personalwealth.com, will let consumers receive customised, unbiased advice and recommendations on stocks, bonds and mutual funds.

The service will recommend specific stocks and mutual funds based on an investor's financial situation. Subscribers can try the service free for 30 days. After that, Standard & Poor's will charge a monthly fee of $9.95.
