Today FM has appointed Mr Dave Hammond, currently sales and marketing director, as general manager.

Mr Tom Steele, who has been acting as chief executive and director of programmes, will continue in this role.

However, the station said Mr Hammond will now be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Today FM. The financial controller, Mr Padraig Leahy, becomes company secretary.

The Irish Brokers Association has appointed Mr Stephen Patterson as manager - broker services and development. Mr Patterson has previously worked with Misys and Eagle Star.

Golden Vale has appointed Ms Manjo Hatcher as cheese and ingredients purchasing manager for the cheese and spreads division. Ms Hatcher will be responsible for the purchase of all cheese and ingredients products for the division. She joins Golden Vale from The Cheese Company (UK) where she held a number of management positions including trading manager and business manager.

Ms Siobhan Browne has joined FBD, the insurance company, as human resources manager, after leaving a position at An Bord Trachtala.

Mr Joe Hanrahan joins FBD Investment Services, a division of FBD Holdings.

Mr Gavin Loughrey has been appointed assistant director of Apax Partners, the venture capital company. Mr Loughrey returns from London where he worked with mergers and acquisitions company, Capital Strategies. He previously worked with KPMG in Dublin.

Interface Business Information has appointed Mr Kevin Murphy as general manager. Mr Murphy worked previously in the credit information industry before joining Interface as sales and marketing manager.

Mr Jim Miley, the general secretary of Fine Gael, becomes chief executive of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Mr Miley is a former producer/presenter in RTE television and radio. He succeeds Mr Noel Carroll who died last October.
