Norkom zooms in on business intelligence

This week saw the official launch of a new Irish consultancy and research company specialising in "business intelligence". Business intelligence refers to the valuable operational and competitive information that can be gleaned from customers' transaction records.

Norkom Technologies, which was formed in February of this year, has already expanded to 20 people, and it has plans to grow to 50 within two years. Its four founding executives bring considerable expertise from various IT backgrounds. Mr Paul Kerley, Mr Killian Colleran, Mr Ray O'Donnell and Mr Colm Crossan have formerly worked for a number of IT leaders, including Cap Gemini, Intel, Amdahl and Visio.

Norkom Technologies will offer consultancy covering knowledge management, data mining and data warehousing.
