Microsoft moves to appeal ruling

Software giant Microsoft last night asked a US appeals court to re-examine its ruling that the company illegally "commingled" computer code of its Internet Explorer browser and the Windows operating system.

The company said it filed the re-hearing request with the appeals court because it believes the ruling was based on "clearly erroneous" findings of a lower court judge.
