NEIL SAUL, from the ad agency Publicis, and Cian Tormey, from Rothco, have won Best Yet 2012, a European creative competition, in Oslo, Norway, after designing an advertisement intended to drive international sales of Jarlsberg cheese, Norway’s third largest export product.

The team qualified for a place in this year’s event after coming second in The Irish Times/ICAD Best Yet Young Irish Creative Team of the Year competition in March.

Saul and Tormey designed a “wax newspaper” concept which judges deemed to be innovative and creative as well as meeting the brief in a visually eye-catching fashion. The team’s prize is a trip to the Cannes Lion Advertising Festival in June.

Gavin O’Sullivan, creative director of DDFHB, who was on the jury, described the competition as “the best of young creative advertising talent from across Europe in one room, working under the pressure of a looming deadline with a product they’re less than familiar with.”
