The German share market closed higher yesterday with the strong dollar, bund prices and a higher open on Wall Street lending support to a generally quiet market.

French shares finished the session with scant gains, after clawing back the day's losses, induced by a scare over domestic inflationary pressures. Traders said volume was fairly subdued.
