German stocks closed floor trade over one and a half percent higher following better than expected German money supply data for January and an encouraging 1.68 percent rise on Wall Street overnight. Shares held their gains in post bourse trade and the IBIS DAX index ended at 2449.52 points.

French shares closed out the week on a high as buoyant bonds and New York strength added to the usual buying seen at the start of new account.
