Under the Code, the banks and building societies undertake to:

Provide a minimum of two months' notice to customers before closing a branch;

Provide an explanation for the closure;

Widely promote the uptake of alternative banking methods, such as telephone or Internet banking;

Educate vulnerable groups in the use of alternative banking methods;

Monitor the effectiveness of such educational activities
