Workers have occupied the Lowe Alpine mountain sports clothing factory in Tullamore after the company offered them half of a Labour Court redundancy award. The workers say they will not allow goods to leave the factory until Lowe Alpine agrees to pay the full award.

Lowe Alpine produces high quality outdoor wear. Its parent company William Baird, which is based in Britain, has had to lay off 4,500 staff.
